Variant forms of search terms
Loislaw automatically retrieves most variant forms of words containing more than three letters.
Example:
murder finds murders, murdered and murderer
Expanders
The asterisk " * " can be used as a word expander to retrieve all possible forms of a word.
Example:
librar* finds library, libraries, librarian
Wildcards
The question mark "?" can be used as a wild card to replace a single character anywhere in a word.
Example:
S?nk finds sink, sank, and sunk
198? finds dates from 1980 through 1989, as well as alphanumeric combinations like 198a and 198b, etc.
